Fossilman Filling In

Submitted by Michael Stone on October 30, 2008 – 4:31 PMNo Comment
Tony “Bond18″ Dunst is a successful high-stakes online tournament player, a well-known maverick in the 2+2 community, and a burgeoning poker writer who’s working on his humourous journalistic skills.  His ilk are known to trade tournament hand histories, with the hopes that their fellow players will have wise insight on how to play a hand.

This blog entry begins by following that format.  But it takes a drastic turn when, after the losing player vociferously berates Bond’s call, none other than 2004 WSOP Main Event Champion Greg Raymer shows up in the chat box to “fossilown” the plaintiff.
It’s a small moment, but one that perfectly illustrates poker’s appeal.  You, the average Joe, will never play basketball with Michael Jordan, or golf with Tiger Woods.  But you have a very good chance of running into poker’s world champion, if you hang around long enough.  And, in this case, complain loudly.

Which type of Tournament of Champions do you prefer?

  • Heads-Up Format Tournament of Champions (59%, 88 Votes)
  • NLH Traditional Tournament of Champions (41%, 61 Votes)
