What Happens in Vegas… Winds Up on the Internet

minitcred2Hey there, Red Hotters and Red Clubbers. If you’re one of the lucky ones then right about now you’re probably shaking with excitement, as your flight to Las Vegas for Red Hot’s Vegas Invasion 2009 leaves within a day or two. See you there, friend!

If you’re not one of the above-mentioned “lucky ones”, then you can still follow the antics of the Invasioners, and the successes of Team Canada Poker, in several different ways.

First, right here at PokerClips. I’ll have my laptop with me, and will do my best to write about all the happenings in and out of the Rio. If all goes well, though, you won’t hear much from me. I’m hoping to have to endure 3 consecutive 11-hour days of poker, and come home with a bracelet. But if not, then I’ll keep you posted on who’s doing well, who busted out early, and who got into a verbal war when he/she called Phil Hellmuth’s raise with a queen and a ten.

Second, Team Canada Poker has its own Twitter account. You can follow their tweets in the sidebar on the right, or go directly to TeamCanadaPoker. Each member of the team has access to that account, and they’ll all be tweeting their brains out, giving up-to-the-second chip counts if their still in the tournament, and 140-character anecdotes of their Vegas adventures if their not.

Lastly, on this site and on our YouTube page you can check out the video blogs from anyone on the Invasion with a camera. I’ll have one, and plan on doing end-of-day recaps for as long as I’m still in the tournament.

If you want to interact with any of the Invasioners, just leave a comment on this post, or on the YouTube vids, or contact us with a tweet. Otherwise, we’ll see you when we get back. Hopefully flush with some new jewellery!

    Awwwwwww yeahhhhh! Vegas, baby!

    19 hours until blast off.

Remember, guys, money talks in Vegas. For a $20 tip the person working the front desk may be able to upgrade your room.

    1. When you go to the front desk to check into a hotel, they will ask for a credit card, driver’s license or passport.
    2. Slip a $20 bill between or under your ID and credit card.
    3. Ask the clerk if there are any complimentary upgrades available.
    4. Most clerks will know to give you back the money if they cannot upgrade you.
